The challenge

Compliance advisory ran differently in every business and every country. Information was scattered, hard to extract and slow to report, data-access rules differed by jurisdiction, and regulatory obligations demanded quality, risk controls and management information on tap.

What I did

• Streamlined 13 regulatory and financial-crime compliance processes across group-wide businesses.

• Developed and deployed an AWS-based platform that replaced the old systems, bringing operating data and processes into one place for management teams in the UK and Hong Kong, with a chatbot and federated search for fast retrieval.

• Defined and implemented streamlined processes for the Marketing Material and Legal compliance businesses across 58 countries, resolving country-specific cloud data-access constraints.

• Introduced Scrum across the business transformation and technology teams.

Outcome

• FTE cost reduced by 30% through the AWS platform.

• Time-to-market for business products cut from 15 days to 3.

• Handover inefficiencies removed and time-to-market improved by a further two weeks through Scrum.
