Running the trade-capture and processing platform behind give-up trades for two external hedge funds, with 300 EMEA users relying on it.

Scale: budget $1.5m per year · 10 FTE · 2 years

The challenge

External clients meant a secure network (DMZ) infrastructure, strict SLAs, high-volume exchange-traded futures and options, and a mix of BAU, strategic and emergency work streams running at once.

What I did

• Primary contact for second- and third-level support, resolving complex technical issues within SLA.

• Planned and delivered the DMZ infrastructure through design, proof of concept, testing, delivery and transition into support.

• Trained and on-boarded operate teams for the plan-operate-build model; ran the monthly project council for senior management and sponsors.

• Managed penetration testing and closed the findings.

Outcome

• Risk on give-up trades managed and reported for both funds; critical high-volume futures and options delivered.
