A single framework for the end-to-end processing of structured and exotic hybrid trades, replacing manual workarounds that caused errors and control gaps.

The challenge

Structured trades were processed through inconsistent paths with manual steps. Processing errors, control and compliance gaps and regulatory reporting requirements all needed resolving at once, which meant changing the business process as well as the technology.

What I did

• Identified the business-process changes needed and created a single processing framework.

• Implemented BPM to simplify straight-through processing and patch control gaps.

• Took the product through end-to-end testing to business sign-off.

Outcome

• 2 FTE per week saved.

• Revenue reconciliation errors reduced by 25%.

• Regulatory requirements met; technology cost reduced by 10%.
